Become a Home Visitor in Medina County
As a Home Visitor, you’ll help parents prepare their children for school and life success by building relationships with families through twice-weekly visits during the school year. Each 30-minute session allows you to deliver free books and toys while modeling reading, conversation, and play activities that parents can use in their daily lives.
Our Home Visitors come from diverse backgrounds, but all share a love for developing relationships with families and a desire to help parents prepare their children for kindergarten and life success. You don’t need an educational background to become an effective Home Visitor—just a passion for helping families thrive.
What to Expect as a Home Visitor
Volunteering as a Home Visitor involves a meaningful commitment to the families you’ll serve. You’ll attend a comprehensive two-day initial training in August to learn the ParentChild+ model and effective techniques for supporting early childhood development.
Throughout the school year, you’ll participate in home visits twice a week, 30 minutes each. Weekly staff meetings provide ongoing support, guidance, and opportunities to share experiences with fellow volunteers. This structure ensures you have the knowledge and resources to make a meaningful difference in children’s lives.
